Terms of Use

These terms apply to use of Asheboro Residents Directory. By using the service, you agree to these terms. Do not use the service if you do not accept them.

1. What This Service Is

Asheboro Residents Directory is a privately operated reference service. It describes and links to public records, indexes, and historical directory collections relevant to Asheboro and Randolph County, North Carolina. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a government office, court, library, or custodian.

2. Lawful Site Use

Use this service only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service or material reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person
  • Find someone whose location is protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit fraud or identity theft
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision involving credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or another regulated purpose
  • Scrape, reproduce, or republish the service's content at scale
  • Disrupt the service's operation or security

3. Consumer Reporting Status

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing here, or returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose.

4. Third-Party Services

Government portals, sponsored search tools, and other outside services have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their content, availability, fees, result quality, or handling of submitted information.

5. No Warranties

The service is offered as available and without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that local content is complete, current, or error-free, or that an outside portal will work or return an accurate result.

6. Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including decisions based on a record found through one.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the service operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is permitted. Republishing full pages or systematically copying content is not permitted.

9. Term Updates

We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after posting means that version is accepted.

10. Restricting Access

We may limit or end access, without notice, for a user who violates these terms or misuses the service.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Access to existing government records is separately governed by the North Carolina Public Records Act, N.C.G.S. Chapter 132, including §§132-1, 132-6, and 132-6.2. That Act does not require a custodian to create a new record and does not override confidential fields, sealed material, or address protections under the North Carolina Address Confidentiality Program, N.C.G.S. Chapter 15C. North Carolina official research did not identify an enacted broad consumer data-broker deletion law.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
